Kelley Swain, who grew up in New England and now lives in London, has always followed the dual paths of science and literature. After graduating in 2007 with a degree in English from Randolph College, VA, she completed a graduate programme in Maritime Studies at the Mystic Seaport in Connecticut.
Darwin's Microscope is her first collection and its publication coincides with the bicentenary of Darwin's birth in 1809 and the 150th anniversary of his magnum opus, On the Origin of Species (1859).
