Edited by Martin Edwards

This is the second anthology of short stories published by members of the northern chapter of the Crime Writers Association. ‘Variety is the hallmark of the contributions’ wrote editor Martin Edwards in his introduction. It includes an early story from Val McDermid. Ann Cleeves and Martin Edwards allowed their series detectives, Inspector Ramsay and Harry Devlin to take a break while they tried their hands at a different kind of story, while Reginald Hill provided a treat for all Dalziel and Pascoe fans with a story htherto seen only in truncated form. Dame Ngaio Marsh provided two posthumous items in the shape of talks discovered in the archives of New Zealand Radio by Margaret Lewis.
